Located at the mouth of the Chaliyar Stream in Kozhikode section, Beypore, one of the popular slots and sport fishing harbors of historical Kerala was an essential business and ancient hub.
Ancient Beypore was much popular by suppliers from European Japan, for its ship building market. The vessel building garden here is well known for the development of the Uru, the conventional Arabian dealing vessel.
The Beypore Seaside has a bridge built nearly 2 kms into the sea. It is actually created up of large stones stacked together for nearly 2 kms creating a road into the sea.
It was the spices or herbs and success of Malabar that first introduced the Arabs, the Phoenicans, the Greeks, the Romans, the Colonial, the Nederlander and the British to Kerala.
Kappad has experienced many such landings. Kozhikode was then the most essential business hub of the Malabar area and the Zamorins who decided this awesome area were highly effective and intelligent.
Though the Colonial were accepted in Kozhikode they were not too well motivated or interested for lengthy by the Zamorins, which might be the purpose they moved their platform to Kochi and Kollam down south.
