Shanghumugham beach in Kerala

The Mermaid- Kanai
The wonderful statue of a mermaid is a significant fascination here. Kanai Kunjuraman, one of the most well known artists of Kerala designed this spectacular unclothed mermaid.

Aarattu
The seaside consumes an essential place in the social history of the town. The two significant gatherings of Sri Padmanabha Swami forehead, Alpashy in October/ Nov and the Painkuni celebration in Apr / Apr end with the Aarattu (holy bath) procession to the Shankumugham Beach.
